"People call them all sorts of names ... moo cows, hairy shaggy cows, fluffy cows, hairy cows with horns, long haired ginger cows, Scottish coos ... but whatever you call them, you can't get away from the fact that Highland cattle simply ooze character and colour, which is why people have a soft spot for them, and why I adore painting them. Mooody and heroic, this distinguished chap was a pleasure to paint. His faraway and contemplative gaze makes me wonder what he's thinking ..." SF
